Only 3 months after graduationg from the University of Tampa with her Bachelor's degree in Fine Arts, Princess Smith won the 2013 Emerging Artist of the Year award at the Gasparilla Festival of the Arts. The Emerging Artists Program was created to recognize and showcase the artwork of up-and-coming artists who wish to establish themselves in a professional visual arts career. Her now famous painting "Served #2" captured the attention of a juried review and has since become a leading favorite for people who follow her work.
